A lone faithful man praying at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. It is revered by Jews and is the holiest of their sites because it is the last remnant of the Temple’s retaining wall and still encloses and supports the Temple Mount today. It was originally called the Wailing Wall because Jews for centuries came here to mourn the loss of their Temple. Men and women pray in separate sections of the wall. The Wall was built by King Herod during the time of Jesus.
