A trip to New Orleans is not complete without a visit to the history-rich St. Louis Cemetary near the French Quarter. It is the oldest cemetary in New Orleans and typical of the unique, above ground burial pactices of the French and Spanish due to its elevation being below sea level. There are so many old and beautiful angel statues resting above the cemetary. This "New Orleans Angel" bows prayerfully with a cross in the background.
