The Acoma Pueblo is the oldest continuously inhabited community in the U.S. It has been traced back to 1150. The pueblo, located on a nearly 400-foot mesa on the Acoma Indian Pueblo, provides a stunning view of the Enchanted Mesa and Mt. Taylor. A few years ago I attended a Christmas service at the pueblo which was a beautiful blending of Christian and Indian customs. As I left the pueblo, I noticed a church that appeared to tower over the flat desert. It seemed to be a beacon of Hope in this fierce landscape. It is titled "Mission of Hope".
