White tombs, not olives, cover the steep hillside rising beyond the city wall east of Temple Mount. Pious Jews believe that the Last Judgment will take place here, so it has special meaning to be buried here. Stones are left at the grave as a sign of remembrance.
The verse reads:
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, Which cannot be shaken, but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds his people Both now and forever. Peace be upon Israel. Psalm 125
