Nestled in the foothills of New Mexico's Sangre de Cristo mountain range is a little village of miracles called Chimayo. Chimayo's history dates back to the 1500's. Chimayo is called the Lourdes of America where thousands of pilgrims visit each year for healing by partaking of the "sacred healing dirt" that can be found in the small room called El Posito next to the adobe chapel. I felt a sense of serenity as I took this picture contrasting the color of the adobe chapel and the clear blue skies of New Mexico.
